Meet the Founder

Black Circle Coffee was founded by Brian Nagy, a lifelong coffee enthusiast with a passion for craftsmanship, quality, and thoughtful execution.

After nearly two decades leading Demand Planning and S&OP teams across companies including Starbucks, Hershey, Chewy, Thrive Market, West Marine, and Cargill, Brian set out to build a coffee company rooted in the same principles that guided his career: consistency, intentionality, and attention to detail.

The result is Black Circle Coffee, a Sarasota-based roastery focused on small batch, roasted to order coffee crafted for exceptional freshness and flavor. Outside of coffee, Brian is also passionate about music and enjoys playing guitar. That appreciation for music has helped shape the Black Circle philosophy. Just as great music is built on balance, nuance, and craftsmanship, great coffee is about bringing together the right elements to create something memorable.

Every coffee is roasted with the belief that great coffee should highlight the character of the bean, respect the craft behind the process, and create a moment worth slowing down for.
